On completion of the refit of the Tattershall Castle in Hull; the GPS Marine multicat “GPS Battler” picked up the vessel in Alexandra Dock and towed her to Tilbury Dock where she arrived on Wednesday 8th April. The iconic vessel remained in Tilbury dock until Sunday 12th April when she was picked up by the GPS Marine tugs “GPS India”, “GPS Iberia” and “GPS Ionia” for the tow upriver from Tilbury through bridges to her berth at the Victoria Embankment. The tow upriver was carried out under the supervision of GPS Marine’s towmaster – Graeme Faulkner who, previously, was also responsible for directing operations for the tow down river through bridges to Woolwich.
On the arrival of the Tattershall Castle back at her berth at the Victoria Embankment, mooring and installation work on site is being carried out by the GPS Marine crane barge “GPS Boxer” on behalf of the main contractor.
